THE TITANS OF UL
DESCRIPTION
Ah, yes, the Titans of Ul. Though as of this writing I have not yet played with any of the new factions, I have heard many speak of the might and power of the Titans. Some have dared say they may be the most powerful of the factions.
That, of course, may be their weakness, as the meta-game element of Twilight Imperium tends to work against anyone that is perceived as most powerful. Powerful or not, they do seem an interesting faction. Saturn Engine, especially the upgrade, is arguably the best ship in the game, given its price/value ratio. And their PDS unit, the Hel-Titan, is a PDS AND a Ground Force, making defense as impenetrable as titanium alloy plating. The only down side, from what I've heard, is their tendency to use a lot of Command tokens to activate their Awaken ability. So that is an element of the game you may need to be careful not to trip up on when playing these behemoths! STARTING TECHAntimass Deflectors

STARTING UNITS1 Dreadnought
2 Cruisers 2 Fighters 3 Infantry 1 Space Dock Before you have a heart attack for seeing they have no Carriers, remember their Cruisers have capacity! So you have 3 capacity ships, but also only 3 infantry. Still, easy to get a decent spread in Round 1! And 2 of those ships have Speed 2, so you can stretch out a bit, if you feel inclined. |
FACTION ABILITIES
TERRAGENESIS
After exploring a planet without a Sleeper token - place a Sleeper token!
AWAKEN
After activating a system with a Sleeper token - replace the token(s) with a PDS!
COALESCENCE
If your Flagship or Awaken ability results in your units being in space/on a planet with enemy forces, engage in combat during the appropriate step of the Activation sequence!
The Terragenesis/Awaken combo is, I believe, the reason the Titans have a reputation for going through command tokens like a giant robot at an oil spill.

ANTHEMTITAN TOKENSThe Titans have a couple extra token types. The one on the left is a Sleeper token, and the one on the right goes on Elysium after the Hero ability is used.

FACTION TECHSPretty self-explanatory. Best Cruiser in the game, and perhaps best ship (besides maybe some Flagships excepted). And the Hel-Titan is easily best PDS.
|
AGENTI would put this in the upper tier of Agent abilities, especially during small skirmishes. With your Saturn Engine II Sustain Damage ability, your light fleets can take a lot of hits.
HEROOne of the few Hero abilities I'd recommend using as soon as possible! This card gets attached to the planet card, and the token (seen above aside the Sleeper token) gets placed on the planet itself.

COMMANDERA little extra income. Not super powerful as far as Commanders go, but a nice stream of passive income.
Unlock by having 5 structures (PDS, space dock) on the board. MECHProbably a good deal since you might easily run out of PDS to place, given your other abilities.

HOME SYSTEM
PROMISSORY NOTEDefinitely a Promissory Note I'd be interested in trading for. Not just for the +1 bonuses to the planet, but the multiple planet type feature can sure help with certain objectives. Maybe extra useful for the Naaz-Rokha, who can explore the planet AGAIN as any type they wish!

FLAGSHIPOURANOS
DEPLOY: After you activate a system with 1 or more of your ODS, you may replace the PDS with this unit. Sustain Damage Cost: 8 Combat: 7 (X2) Move: 1 Capacity: 3 |
